Carbon emissions in Greater Manchester have been around 12.8Mt, this equates to 2 tonnes per resident. Might sound like a lot, but it’s a 30% reduction on the 18.4Mt from 2005. So it’s a great achievement, one which Envirolution aims to help get much lower!

Total people engaged at ALL Envirolution events across the UK we have organised or been part of since we began in 2009. That’s over 10 years of making people smile and exploring how we can create a fairer and more sustainable future for us all.

Envirolution runs Manchester’s first ever community assembly on climate change!

In 2021 we coordinated a community assembly on climate change, involving 106 participants form across Manchester!

People came from all over the city to learn about food and agriculture, transport, fashion and retail, buildings and energy and then worked on creating solutions that are both relevant and appropriate for our city.

They also put forwards all of the important issues that need addressing by the city council, business and national government in the form of a Mandate, which was then presented to City Council representatives at the final event.

All the findings and the project film can be seen HERE

The Envirolution assembly project continues to evolve and we are helping create other assemblies across the country and beyond!

INvirolution.org is here!

June 2020 saw a unique, outward-facing take on the Envirolution spirit.  The digital version of our community-led festival meant we could find more inspiration from inspiring people, organisations and movements from across the globe.

The global lockdown has offered the opportunity for us all to reflect about our impact on the world and ways we can reconnect with the natural world whilst keeping safe and healthy. INvirolution provides new insights and new ways of supporting each other to find a stronger, better world to build and recover in together.

The workshops, talks, music and other activities and plenty of festival spirit afre all still available, so see what you can find.

It’s Envirolution, and more!

Envirolution Impact Assessment 2020

During the challenging events of 2020,

the volunteers of Envirolution wanted to reflect on how we were doing as a group, and how we could make more of an impact going forwards.

So we teamed with an amazing group of PhD researchers at the University of Manchester’s Collaboration Labs programme.

The group interviewed over 40 people who have attended an Envirolution event, given a workshop,        ran a stall, or is one of our volunteers. The surrounding infographics show some of what was found…

The research was so good it even won the Universities Project Excellence Award!
